After working from 9 to 8 with the concrete foundation we get a day off. Sebastian and Nigel (who by the way is called Luca here) combines their two passions and plan out a climbing trip to a rock roughly an hour away, by horse. We packed the sadle bags full of food (meat from a wild bull – of course), equipment and set off around lunchtime after having sadled our horses in the old style way with quilts, leather sadles and sheep skins. It felt like a swallows and amazons cenario, but better. Big words won’t do it justice, so I will just leave it at this. A precious precious day my imagination would fail me to create. It’s been two unusual and fantastic weeks out here at the end of the world. Tomorrow we are heading back to Puerto Natales and will from there plan out the route towards El Chalten.
